NOAA seeks public comment on Arctic Vision and Strategy

NOAA has released an important document outlining the strategy for the Arctic and are seeking public comment on the document.  The below is from a recent announcement of the document and includes the link and instructions on providing feedback.  The Arctic is one of the most important and fastest-changing biological areas in the world.  Public awareness of the processes taking place there, biological, industrial, geopolitical, and otherwise, are critical to saving some very valuable places.

"Our intent is to ensure that the agency meets its core mandates in the Arctic and provides the
information and support for people to live and work safely, securely, and sustainably in the
Arctic. To that end, we invite your comments on the draft NOAA Arctic Vision and Strategy
between May 10 and June 10, 2010. Specifically, we are interested in your feedback on the
vision for the Arctic; the six strategic goals; and the five-year strategies for the Arctic. Your
views on how NOAA’s work can best support your organization, the key scientific questions to
be answered, and opportunities for partnering will be valuable in improving the strategy and
guiding its implementation.

Please email your comments to [email protected]. After the public comment period
closes, NOAA will finalize the document and begin developing a 5-year Arctic Action Plan and
